The next few days are going to be super busy. Parents and students need to talk to each other to see what is going on in school.
1st let's look at academics for periods 1 & 2.
Spelling: Pretest Monday U2W5 So You Want to be President, 3x each due Tuesday, 10 sentences due Wednesday, test Thursday.
Grammar: Test Wednesday on plural nouns. We have covered this topic in spelling a few weeks ago. Add -s or -es to a regular singular noun to make it plural.
Reading: Test Tuesday on What Jo Did. Study vocabulary and cause/effect strategies. We will start Look, Back, and Write on Tuesday and finish on Wednesday if necessary.
Academics for period 3.
Spelling: Pretest Monday Animal Mimics list. Students got a list today, and the word list is on page 287 in their "new" reading book. 3x each is due Tuesday and final test is Thursday. This list is challenging! Do not wait until the last minute.
Reading: We will be reading Animal Mimics in class, using context clues to find the meanings of the vocabulary words.
Grammar: We will be discussing complex sentences (independent and dependent sentences).
Test for reading and grammar will be at the start of the new year.

Busy, busy!
Friday December 14: 4th grade is going to the symphony. Students MUST wear dress code bottoms. They may wear a Spartan shirt or a holiday shirt for a $1.00 or they can wear a dress code top for free.
Monday and Tuesday we will have a guest speaker each day. The guest speakers are helping the students build their career readiness portfolios.
Wednesday we will be going over to the high school auditorium to listen to the holiday music sounds performed by the high school band and chorus. Lunch will be later, so please be sure your child eats a hearty breakfast.
Thursday 2 students from each homeroom have been selected to have lunch with the principals and teachers. Students will be treated to outside pizza, salad, snacks, and beverages. In my homeroom, the students are John and Je'Nyce.
Friday is a half day, with dismissal at 12.
Have a great week!
