Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I will be teaching your child ELA (reading, grammar, spelling, writing). I will try to follow the homework helpline assignments as best I can. As always, there may be some unforeseeable events. Please keep in mind we need to have an open line of communication for you the student/parent to have a great year.

Friday Dec 16

Don't forget that on Monday, there will be a pizza party for Mrs. Herring's class.  Students should bring their own drink. Tuesday we will be going to the high school to listen to the band and chorus. Wednesday is Ugly Sweater day for $1.00 for the SPCA.  You MUST wear dress code approved bottoms.  If you don't wear an ugly sweater, you must be in dress code approved top. Thursday AR is due by 3pm. Friday is reward and early dismissal at 12pm. Have a great weekend, Mrs. Herring

Week of December 12, 2016

Spelling:   There will not be a new lesson this week. Grammar:   Singular possessive nouns test will be Friday.  We practiced today and will continue to review throughout the week. Reading:   Our test on Horse Heroes will be on Tuesday 12/20.  Continue to study the vocabulary.  The skill this week is fact and opinion. Wednesday is our 2 hour data delay.  Thursday will be Brainshow Mania.  Friday we will be going to the symphony. Friday December 23rd 4th grade will be having our reward.  We will be watching the Polar Express, having cookies and chocolate milk.  If you did not fulfill your AR goal, or have 2 checkmarks, you will not have reward. Monday our homeroom will be having a pizza party with drinks.  This will take the place of lunch.  If your child doesn't eat lunch, and only 1 said so, he may bring his own lunch.  We have a very busy schedule until the holidays. Have a great weekend, Mrs. Herring

December 9

Parents, we had a great presentation today discussing being champions and doing the best you could. There will be yo-yos for sale next week until 9am.  PTO will accept cash or check made out to PTO. Friday December 16 is a dress down day for a small donation.  It is also the 4th grade trip to the symphony.  I am asking if students could wear jeans or dress clothes, no sweats.  We will be going to Pottsville Area HS and other school districts will be there.  We will be back for lunch. Next week we will start singular possessive nouns.  We will not be starting a new spelling list.  We will be reading Horse Heros. Have a great weekend, Mrs. Herring
