Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I will be teaching your child ELA (reading, grammar, spelling, writing). I will try to follow the homework helpline assignments as best I can. As always, there may be some unforeseeable events. Please keep in mind we need to have an open line of communication for you the student/parent to have a great year.

Students can still collect donations until next week for the Boosterthon.  Our class is at $31/lap, so students have earned an additional 30 minutes of recess. Spelling pretest for periods 1 and 2 will be on Monday.  How Night Came ... is the story title.  3x each is due Tuesday, 10 sentences are due Wednesday, and test will be Friday. Students in period 3 will have a spelling pretest on Monday on their next story, Butterflies ...  Students can find the list in their reading book.  I will have a list of words and vocabulary to go home on Monday.  3x each will be due on Tuesday, and the test will be Friday. Period 3 will continue with reading the Butterflies story and work on figurative language.  Periods 1 & 2 will be working on figurative language. The Fun Run is quickly approaching this Thursday.  There is still time to register if you haven't done so already.  Donations can be done online or if it is a cash donation, that can be sent in.  Students are encouraged to wear their black and green pto shirt on Thursday and sweatpants so the run is easier and more enjoyable.  If the student can't find the black and green shirt, any North Schuylkill shirt will do. Students in period 1 & 2 were to have a pretest and spelling list this week.  I am going to move that to next Monday, January 28th.  Periods 1 & 2 were to have a reading test on Tuesday.  Due to no school on Monday and a 2 hour delay on Tuesday, the reading test will be moved to Wednesday.  Please continue to study the vocabulary, fact and opinion and compound words. Please dress responsibly.  Students can wear a sweater, cardigan, 1/4 zip sweatshirt.  Please be sure students are wearing jackets, hats, gloves, etc.  Always be prepared for outdoor drills,

My class has reached the 2nd classroom incentive.  Students in my homeroom will receive a sweet treat and an additional 15 minutes of recess.  The next incentive is a mystery reader. If more students register online and pledge, we will climb to the top faster.  We are in 1st place in 4th grade!!! Students are doing a great job! Parents, Our North Schuylkill Fun Run kicked off today, and we are thrilled about this year’s program! We’ve asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run program (which will last about two weeks), making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun. Our Fun Run includes EVERY student in a fun, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds.  This year, our entire school is raising funds for field trips, education programs, and fun day  .  Our goal is to raise $15,000 ,   and we need YOUR help!
