Parents, please remind your students to write down their work from each teacher's homework area in the classroom. Homework blogs may not be up to date due to levels of understanding or obstacles that get in the way. Also, each class teacher has her own blog, so please check each of ours. We had a spelling test on Monday. The spelling list was given over a week ago. The list is on a handout in your child's red reading folder as well as their reading book in the current story. Mrs. Laudeman also has an activity on her blog called Spelling City where the children can participate in a spelling exercise. Many students did not study for this test. We have done exercises in class, discussed word endings (suffixes) and base words, played sparkle. Beginning U1W3, students will be writing their list words 3x each. Students will be engaged in English Language Arts. We will focus on the Common Core Standards which will prepare the students for the PSSA/Common Core Tests. We will be recalling information, building skills/concept areas, using strategic thinking and using extended thinking.
